One day in a zen temple, an old monk was listening to a conversation that i had with another martial artist friend about all the techniques and styles that we had experienced so far. During the tea ceremony, the old monk really took his time before starting his discussion. He looked at me and said, "the ultimate warrior is the one who has conquered his own self". This kind of surprised me at first; it really disturbed me so much that going back home, my mind was on fire. The more i thought of it, the more it really makes sense. I truly believe that we should try more to understand the different angles of our self. That’s where one of the first rules for a ninjutsu artist is to be honest to him self. Then create a strategy to develop the (inner power) the kuji-in to achieve enlightenment. This is the most important initiation and will become a secret daily magic food. Some martial artists will develop some skills that they think will be enough, as a warrior has to be well protected and skilled. As an old famous ninja said, " that even after a lifetime, you will never learn and do enough to fully know the warriors magic world and all that we can possibly do". We all have some gift inherited in our soul and genes. With meditation, kuji-kuri for example, the harmony developed by control over the five-senses will allow you to perform superhuman feats. It’s a truly amazing force, and it’s this force that drives the ninja on…

There was a famous dragon warrior not so long ago, who was trying not to see his punching movements while he was practicing in front of a mirror. He practiced for many long days; still he was able to see his movements in the mirror. One day "magic happened"! Unbelievably, after a meditation session, he got back to the training room, placed him self in front of the mirror and (flash) it was all done. Finally, he obtained what he was trying to master.

A long time ago during a fighting competition day, there was a famous myth about a certain fighter name "hammer" that nobody wished to compete against. Well yes, he was scheduled in my category to fight me. He didn’t really impress me--but the myth sure did. The father of my friend came to me with a funny smile on his face saying "well son today is your day…"i replied with "yeaaa". Everything was ready for that famous fight that people had been waiting for, hopping that the first aid kit was not far from my side. The father of my friend came to see me just at the same time i was putting on my mouth guard. He said, "i have a little secret to tell you, even if i don’t know much about martial arts". "if you really believe it will work, it will work". I was so curious that i listened and he said "pretend that hammer just hit your mother’s face, she fell down on the floor and she’s bleeding all over".

When i started the match, i didn’t even know that i was doing some movements or if i was bleeding, but suddenly, like waking up out of a dream, hammer was on the floor with the medical team around him, and i was disqualified for what i did. Now i know, the only difference is all in the mind power, it has nothing to do with muscles, kicks and punches. We westerners have to understand that cowboys certainly know how to punch and kick and can be tall, with a super build. But, that’s not the point. There’s a magic rule to follow, and this is what it is: a healthy magic mind in a magic body. This is being a true ninjutsu (ninja) warrior.

Being able to use psychic power by anticipating the future outcome of a series of events, using body dream as an imaginative method of training, anticipating adversary attack, sensing natural catastrophes, this is a form of learning from the subconscious. Developing the warrior spirit, practice with a daily discipline with spirit, body, and mind united in harmony with the cosmic natural laws, i truly believe is a path to reach ninja magic power.
